The PL665 module is designed for programming assemblies containing either OTP or flash PICs which use Microchip's serial programming method. The PL665 is fitted with four IDC headers so ribbon cables can be used toconnect to the target assemblies. Clock and data lines are fully isolated so there is no danger of a fault on one board being transmitted to another. The PL665 can provide both Vcc and Vpp for the assemblies to be programmed.An isolated circuit capable of switching a one amp resistive load is also available.Each module can program four separate assemblies. Two modules can be fitted so eight boards can be programmed.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Extra hardware circuits in this module change the parallel data from the programmer into serial data for programming devices to reduce programming times. For example, up to four 16C73As can be programmed in about 26 seconds whilst four 16C64As take 13 seconds on the L9000/M9000 programmers and in even less time on the fxRAPIDO. Relevant PICs can be secured.

PROGRAMMER RAM CONFIGURATION

For PICs in the 18CXXX and 18FXXX families, the M/L9000 programmer ram needs to be 32M bits because the configuration bytes specified by Microchip are at very high addresses. For other PICs the ram size of the programmer does not matter.
